The weather had been fine in the days preceeding the wedding of Tara & Jardian, but on their day the rain did not let up. It thankfully was not driving rain or particularly heavy, it was just constant. The situation changed much of how I would normally cover the wedding day photography. It may be of interest to some that in the hundreds of weddings I have covered, only 3 have rained consistently. The places I had wanted to take the Bride & Groom changed significantly because of the dress length and the incumbent difficulties that would present having to "carry" the dress as well as maneuver an umbrella and boquet as well. The hair was also a concern to avoid it becoming wet. The ceremony was in Sydney's north west and then we drove into the city of Sydney and walked from the Town Hall arcade into the Cascade cafe with it's wonderful staff and beautiful waterfall backdrop, and then walked through the historic and glorious Queen Victoria Building (QVB) and Town Hall. After some shots there we went to the St George boat club for the reception. This was a great wedding and I loved the couple who were so happy to be together, Jardian was clearly in love with his choice of bride. There was some angst on my part to aptly cater for the day initially to psych myself into thinking differently and challenging myself because of the weather, and that I did. This was also the first wedding Loren, another assistant started working with me who did extremely well.
