Timeline photography - Wedding tips #1

After having photographed a large number of weddings, which I love, I have been asked by a few people to share some tips and observations that I have obtained over the years of photographing and have agreed to do so. The first is for choosing the people to be in your Bridal party! With so many people you know and so many people you would wish to include in your special day, a couple of important questions need to be asked by you both before picking the bridesmaids and groomsmen: 1. Does he/ she blend easily and get along well with others? You are going to spend several hours with the people in your bridal party, in a few cases that may add up to 20 hours! and you will want people who are fun, warm and easy to get along with. The day can be demanding enough with photography, video, family, extended family and friends etc. and having people who are supportive of you and fun will make your day flow so much more easily and go a long way to making the day spectacular. 2. Can I imagine my wedding day without them? It may seem like a silly question, but don’t ask someone to be in your wedding just because you need an extra guy/ girl on “your side.” If they aren’t family or already a good friend, because the demands on the day may prove difficult and uncomfortable for all concerned if they are not committed to making you, and your day feel special.
